SFC Program Requirements for Providing Care At Home

The Structured Family Caregiving program (SFC) with Health Force of Georgia offers financial and support services to Georgia families that deliver care at home for a senior or disabled person. You may meet SFC requirements and be eligible for financial compensation if:

  • You live with the person as the primary caregiver
  • Are related biologically as a daughter, grandson, etc. or are related through marriage as a daughter-in-law, son-in-law, etc.
  • The person you take care of is Georgia Medicaid-eligible and participates under the CCSP or SOURCE waiver program


*Please note that spouses of waiver participants or legal guardians are not eligible for compensation.

SFC Program Requirements for Providing Care At Home

To qualify as a family caregiver for payment under the SFC program, you must:

  1. Be dedicated to providing caregiving services at home
  2. Cannot have employment outside the home
  3. Cannot run a business from the home such as an online store


Who is Eligible to Receive Care?

The person you take care of must meet the following criteria:

  1. Need assistance with daily living activities such as feeding, dressing, bathing, and more
  2. Be Medicaid-eligible in Georgia
  3. Be a participant in the CCSP or SOURCE Waiver Program
  4. Lives with the person providing their daily care

What Daily Tasks for Taking Care of a Family Member Qualify for the Stipend?

Caregivers may qualify by providing daily tasks. Examples are:

  • Meal preparation
  • Eating
  • Bathing
  • Dressing
  • Getting in and out of bed
  • Transportation to and from appointments
  • Moving around the house
  • Getting into and out of chairs
  • Other activities of daily living


On-boarding with EMIC Home Care


Once approved under the Structured Family Care program, you become an employee of EMIC as the primary caregiver. This means payments for services are direct deposited into your account weekly.
